This afternoon the Izod IndyCar Series will take to the Streets of Long Beach for the famed Toyota Long Beach Grand Prix. Will Power, who drives for Team Penske and won the first two races in Brazil and Florida, is starting on the pole in his bid to take three of the first four races this season.
There will be an interesting doubleheader at the Texas Motor Speedway today (if Mother Nature allows). First on tap will be the regularly scheduled Sprint Cup 500-mile race at right around 3 PM. Rain caused the postponement of yesterday’s 300-mile Nationwide race so that race is set to go off after the Sprint Cup event at around 9PM tonight. Tony Stewart is on the pole for the Sprint Cup race in his 400th start in the series. Joey Logano is on the pole for tonight’s Nationwide race.
